Diamond is at once a material, a geological record, an optical system, a traded object, a cultural symbol, and a personal memory. None of those perspectives is sufficient on its own.
This book grew out of the need for a Croatian reference that does not reduce diamond to a sales description and does not hide the limits of what we can conclude. The goal is not for the reader to accept the author’s authority, but to be able to follow the path from a claim to evidence, sources, context, and limitations.
The book was originally written in Croatian and conceived as a living publication: it is corrected when it is wrong, updated when facts change, and it preserves a record of its editions.
